OBJECTIVE OF HMI

The objective of the Institute is to encouragement promote the science and art of Mountaineering amongst its members and others enrolled as student. It aims to train the enterprising members of the community, who in turn develop mountaineering activities in the Himalayas as a sport or as a scientific pursuit.
