Vice principal
Major Vibha, the eigth vice principal of the institute is from the illustrious corps of engineers. An Ex- NDA he has done his mountaineering courses from HAWS, C/O 56 Apo and taken part in various mountaineering and multifarious adventure activities.He successfully participated in the first of its Kind Panchchuli Multidimensional Expedition. He has also been actively participating in para jumping, white water rafting, rowing, skiing, trekking etc. He has joined the institute recently after undertaking immense adventure activities in the insurgency prone mountain of J&k for three years.

Sub. TB Budhathoki, Sc
Enrolled with Gorkhia Rifles, he hails from foothlls of neoal. He has been on Ski Himalayan expedition in 1995. He Climbed Mt. Everest on 23rd May 2001.

Hav Himmat Singh
Enrolled with Garhwal Scouts, he served as an instructor at HAWS and NIM. Hav Singh also participated in alpine Skiing and National Skiing. Among his several successful climbs are- Mt. Machoi, Mt. Sudarshin, Mt. Mukut East and Nun-Kun. Besides these he participated in Operation Vijay at Kargil during May- Jul 1999. |

Nb Sub Dalbir Singh
Enrolled with Dogra Regiment on 19th Sep 1986. HE served as an instructor at HAWS and SBS. He has participated in Mt. Everest and Kanchenjunga expedition. His successful climb is Gangotri-1, Nun Annapurna-1, machai and Friendship peak. |

Nima Norbu
He is the Sr. Instructor at HMI. He was chosen as a Technical Adviser to the 1993 Indo-nepalese joint women’s Exp. To Mt. Everest & made to summit on 16 May 1993. while at HMI he has climbed several 7000mtr peaks. |

Ang Norbu
He is one of the senior most instructor with HMI. Among his several successful climbs are – Nanda devi, Gya|||, Kamet, Abi Gamit and Aconcagua (Argentina). He was the Member of HMI Everest Expedition. |

He has participated in Mt. Everest and Kanchenjunga expeditions, climbed Gay |||, Kamet, Aconcagua (Argentina). He led and climbed the first successful IMF expedition to MT. Ramjak. He was the Member of HMI Everest Expedition. |

Is posted as a New Medical officer with HMI. The officer has already tracked all training areas and is emerging as a budding mountaineer.

Lakpa Norbu Sherpa
Lakpa Norbu was appointed as an instructor in 1999. Among his several successful climbs are – Sasar Kangri-|, Kamet, Kokthang, Rothang, and Aconcagua (Argentina). |

Ngodup Bhutia
Ngodup is an instructor with HMI and has several expeditions to his credit including successful climb to Stock Kangri, Abi Gamin, Fray and Kamet. |

Kushang Sherpa
Kushang has climbed five time in 1993, 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2003. He holds the world record for climbing Mt. Everest from all the three side viz. North Ridge and the challenging Khanshung Face. Also He is the only Indian who Climbed Mt. Everest five times. Kushang has received many awards along with Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award in 2003. |
Roshan Ghatraj
Among his several successful climbs are – Gya lll, Kamet, Abi Gamin and Gorichen. He was the Dy. Leader of IMF Bhurphudhura expedition. Roshan was the member of HMI Mt. Everest Expedition. |
